See how Reviewr helps scholarship programs split the review, score consistently and stay fair as they grow.
More students are applying for help paying for college, and the fastest growth is among the students who need it most. Common App's 2025–26 End of Season Report counted 70% more first-year applicants than in 2016–17, and fee-waiver-eligible applicants grew 165% over the same stretch.
For many scholarship programs, growth arrives all at once: a simpler form, a new fund or more outreach, and the pool triples. The review process, often a committee where everyone reads everything and scores get averaged in a spreadsheet, was built for a much smaller pool.
This session is built around two of the five dimensions of Review Integrity, a framework for judging whether an application and review process is fair, consistent and defensible.
The first is Reviewer Calibration: are your reviewers trained, sharing the load fairly and scoring the same way, and would you know if one of them wasn't?
The second is Decision Traceability: could you explain, applicant by applicant, why each recipient was chosen?
When volume outgrows the process, volunteer reviewers burn out or don't finish, and late-night reads don't get the same attention as the first. One harsh or lenient scorer can decide who wins. And when a donor or a parent asks why, "the committee averaged it out" is a hard answer to defend.
Most scholarship windows open between January and March, so applications and review plans are built in the months before. The best time to plan the review is before the applications arrive.
Scholarship administrators, committee chairs and program staff at foundations, nonprofits, associations, credit unions, companies and education foundations. It's especially useful if your applicant pool or number of funds has grown in the last few cycles, or you're expecting it to this year.
Can't make it live? Register anyway and we'll send you the recording.
Does Reviewr pay scholarship recipients? No. Reviewr tracks acceptance, proof of enrollment and thank-you notes. It doesn't disburse funds or track fund balances. You can export a recipient report for your finance team or CRM.
Do our reviewers need training to use it? Reviewers see each application beside its scorecard, and Reviewr's team helps you set up the program and onboard your committee.
How long does setup take? About 30 days. Reviewr builds the program from your existing forms, so you don't have to start from scratch.
